Since 2020, Crealdé School of Art has partnered with FusionFest Orlando to help showcase Orange County’s cultural diversity through visual arts. For the fifth consecutive year, Crealdé will organize art-making at Fusion Fest’s Family Village—serving 350 participants in hands-on art making workshops over the two day festival which attracts over 20,000 visitors to downtown Orlando. Projects representing the 10 major regions of the world will be presented in 42 half-hour workshops over the two days. Past projects included Chanchitos from Latin America, Tiki totems from the South Pacific, Vejigante Masks from the Caribbean, Henna Designs from South Asia, “Imagine Words” in Origami Boxes from Japan, Buffalo Hide Painting from North America and African Dolls. At the visual art tent, Greek master metalsmith and faculty member Stefan Alexandres will enchant his onlookers with the ancient art of forging beauty from metal.
